Individual counselling - indoors or out
One-on-one sessions built around real conversation and practical support.
In-room counselling
Sessions are held in a calm, comfortable home-based setting on Burralong Street in Deagon. The space is relaxed and private, designed to feel less like a clinic and more like somewhere you'd actually want to talk.
Sessions are typically 50 minutes. Primary referral pathway with Medicare rebates are available with a valid Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP) and referral from your GP, entitling you to up to 10 rebatable sessions per calendar year.
Outdoor & walk-and-talk sessions
Within six minutes drive of the practice there is a relaxed stretch of shoreline or a quiet park, both suited to sessions for those who prefer to be outside. Outdoor sessions are offered as a genuine and helpful alternative, not a gimmick.
Time in natural environments is consistently linked to reduced cortisol, improved mood, and a loosening of the kind of internal monitoring that can make it harder to open up. Many people find they talk more freely when they're moving, or simply not staring across a desk.
If you're unsure whether outdoor sessions suit you, it's worth trying — clients often surprise themselves. Weather, mobility, and personal preference are all discussed beforehand.
I'm a veteran and have a particular interest in working with current and former ADF members and their families. I understand the culture from the inside, which changes how these conversations can go.
DVA-funded sessions are available for eligible clients. If you're not sure about your entitlements, get in touch and we can work through it together.
Veteran & ADF clients
Before your first session
Most people prefer to have a Mental Health Care Plan from your GP to access Medicare rebates, prior to our first session.
DVA clients can book with me under DVA arrangements, typically with a DVA Referral from their GP.
If you're unsure, feel free to get in touch before booking.
In crisis?
If you're in immediate distress, please contact Lifeline on 13 11 14, or call 000 in an emergency. This practice does not offer crisis services.
